About Narcotics Anonymous
Narcotics Anonymous Barbados is an integral part of a global, community-based organization characterized by its diverse and multilingual membership. Established in 1953, the initial two decades witnessed modest growth; however, since the release of our Basic Text in 1983, there has been a remarkable surge in members and meetings. Presently, NA boasts close to 76,000 weekly meetings spread across more than 143 countries.
Our core mission is to facilitate recovery from addiction through the implementation of a comprehensive step by step program, with a primary emphasis on regular attendance at group meetings…
Is NA for Me?
This is a question every potential member must answer for themselves.
If you’re an addict, NA can help. “Narcotics Anonymous offers recovery to addicts around the world. We focus on the disease of addiction rather than any particular drug. Our message is broad enough to attract addicts from any social class or nationality. When new members come to meetings, our sole interest is in their desire for freedom from active addiction and how we can be of help.” (It Works: How and Why, “Third Tradition”)
NA Literature?
Written by members, our literature offers identification and a message of hope to the still-suffering addict. Recovery literature is an invaluable source of help for members, potential members, and those who want to help addicts.
